Puppy Raiser
Have you ever thought about being a puppy raiser for a future service dog? Well, here’s your chance! This is your opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life and in the life of a dog.
The Puppy Raiser family shares their home with the dog, teaching it to be a good citizen. This involves house-training the pup, teaching it basic obedience and most importantly, socializing the pup and exposing it to everyday activities such as shopping, riding a bus, going to church, soccer games, getting used to all types of people and animals, etc. The formal service dog training begins once it meets the standard requirements and returns to Golden Healer Service Dogs, generally 1 year to 18 months.
Puppy Sitter
Earn volunteer hours while spending time with a service dog in training! If you’ve been looking for a way to make a meaningful impact on someone’s life but have limited time to commit, becoming a puppy sitter could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Take a puppy home for a day, for the weekend, or for an entire week.
Puppy sitters play a vital role by caring for our puppies in training when their primary puppy raisers are traveling, on vacation, or need a break. Join us and help shape the future of a service dog in training! Use the form below to sign up.

We’re always excited to work with our sponsors and add new ones. Thank you for your interest in becoming a Golden Healer Service Dogs sponsor. We look forward to hearing from you. Please complete and submit the form below to get started. We’ll contact you to follow-up.
